About Us

Vision

We envision a society where addicts are valued and treated with dignity. Stigma, discrimination, and other barriers are eliminated. A society where addiction is recognized as a public health issue – a treatable disease. A society where the addicts seek treatment from a specialized field of expertise.

Mission

Rehabilitate clients with compassion, love, and self-awareness, along with the medical interventions. We aim to give psychological, sociological, biological, and spiritual treatment for the overall wellbeing of our clients. All at the same time giving them the education they need to recover from the effects of addiction, thereby enabling them to maximize their potential, increase their abilities, and enhance their human dignity by providing quality service within available resources.

Genesis of Operation Salvage

Drug abuse in Naga areas can be traced to the colonial era when a few tribes used opium as a way of life, it was however confined to only a few tribes. Until 1983, drug addicts in the Naga areas used only opium. From 1984, the number of heroin addicts shot up drastically. While the wealthy family members were the first casualties, it did not take long for the other section of the people to follow suit. While many died of overdose, some were killed, and others were tortured or ostracized and sent to jails. Conscious that unless a self-sacrificing organization comes about, nothing could be done. It is at this juncture that the operation salvage came into being as a response to families coping with drug addicts and society struggling under the grips of drugs. Operation Salvage was started in the year 2003 for drug and alcohol abusers in the Naga society. Besides helping and enabling the clients from Naga areas, Operation Salvage has catered to clients from other Northeastern states.
